World of Ravenhurst Vs. World of Darkness

Hey everyone! Keliah here with a few friendly reminders.

Ravenhurst, Washington is full of Vampires, Werewolves, Fae, and Mages. Every so often we’re lucky (or unlucky ICly!) to run across a Hunter or two. All of these are elements from World of Darkness and many of us are seasoned World of Darkness (or WoD) players. Many of us take our inspiration from WoD myth and structure, such as following the vampire blood lines and having our characters believe in the religious lore that comes from Vampire: The Masquerade.

However, this is not specifically World of Darkness. Vampires and other races can use various other means of lore in their character creation process.

A few examples:

Twilight (Don’t facepalm, the actual lore is pretty cool)
Angel
Anne Rice’s epic Egyptian based vampires
Old Transylvanian/Romanian/Balkan folklore

Any element that inspires you can be utilized in the character creation process and ongoing personal and simwide storylines. I just wanted to clarify that even though you might utilize World of Darkness in your creations (such as flaws and merits), we are not a WoD SIM. Only SIM rules apply to our characters while playing in this SIM, not World of Darkness rules.

Happy Roleplaying!
~Keliah
